Are you attractive? I don’t mean to get too personal with this question, so let me clarify. Are you “attractive” to other people in the sense that you draw people to you and your healthcare practice? This isn’t a discussion of the sort of attractiveness which includes cosmetics, clothing, accessories, or physique. Instead, I want to talk about your personal ability to interest and engage people.
Influence and Impact II
A couple of weeks ago I attended several sessions of the virtual Influence and Impact Summit produced by Michael Hyatt of Platform University. It was seriously one of the best online summits I’ve ever participated in. (If it happens again next year make sure you sign-up for the free event!) The speakers were insightful, the topics were impactful, and the take-aways were truly meaningful. In my last blog, I reviewed several quotes by the legendary John Maxwell. (Missed it? Check it out!) As I mentioned in that blog, I actually had two favorite sessions. And because I couldn’t pick a winner, I chose to talk about them in alphabetical order.
Be Your Local Healthcare Authority
If we polled 100 people in your community and asked them who the best [fill in your healthcare specialty here] is, would your name come up? Are you considered to “Be Your Local Healthcare Authority” in your field? If not, here are five things you can do to begin the process of being recognized as the local healthcare authority in your field.
1. Get involved in your community. The more your community gets to know you as a person, the more they will get to know and trust you in your professional capacity.
Impact and Influence
I recently attended several sessions of the virtual Influence and Impact Summit produced by Michael Hyatt of Platform University. Online summits are everywhere these days, and some are worth your time to listen in. The Influence and Impact Summit was one of the best online summits I’ve ever participated in. The speakers were top-notch, the topics were relevant, and the take-aways were truly meaningful. For those of you who didn’t have the opportunity to attend, I thought I’d highlight some of the best quotes from some of my favorite sessions.
5 Steps to Create Your Healthcare Marketing Calendar [Connections CalendarTM]
When was the last time you created a healthcare marketing calendar for your practice? Perhaps the single most critical component of a successful healthcare practice is planning. You develop the floorplan of your office, you plan the look and tone of your business cards and brochures, you design the décor of your rooms, and you plan the care you provide to your clients. Likewise, you should intentionally plan your practice marketing by creating a written marketing calendar. (I like to call the marketing calendar a Connections CalendarTM, because it details all the community connections you plan to make in the upcoming year.)
End of Year Financial Checklist
Finances can get lost in the shuffle the closer we get to the holidays. Now is the time for your end of year financial checklist.
Meet with Your Team
Schedule meetings with your accountant and financial advisor (if you have one). There may be time sensitive financial strategies that need to be implemented before the end of the year. Let these advisors know of any major changes that have taken place this year or that you’re planning on in the coming year.
Things, like getting married or divorced, buying a home, or having a child, can drastically change your finances and your financial plans need to change accordingly.
